A new year is here and feel some excitement as new dramas come your way. dimsum entertainment is currently simulcasting a new Chinese historical drama, Ming Dynasty that marks the return of Rebecca Tang Wei to small screen after 12 years.
Adapted from a popular Chinese novel, the story takes place in the early Ming Dynasty, following the experiences of Empress Sun Ruo Wei in living through five emperors and six dynasties.

During the first year of Emperor Yongle of Ming’s reign, the royal doctor Jing Qing and his whole family was beheaded by the Emperor. His eldest daughter, though, was rescued and adopted by Sun Zhong under the name of Sun Ruo Wei. Years later, she becomes the concubine of crown prince Zhu Zhan Ji by chance and starts to plot a revenge. However, she abandons her plan after truly falling in love with her husband and helps him to ascend to the throne. When Zhu Zhan Ji passes away after a decade, Sun Ruo Wei is honoured as Empress Dowager once her 7-year-old Zhu Qizhen ascends the throne and continues to assist the new emperor.
